Version 1.2
I was able to finally make adjustments to the game's performance.
The game ran well with my system when originally releasing the game on January 23rd. I soon started to get contacts telling me that the game doesn't perform well and some have reported the game to run with around 20fps and long load times. For me the fps was mostly 100-300fps but there were times when it dropped to 30fps. (My system is several years old with RTX2060, 16GB RAM and Intel I5-9600kf 3.70GHz)
Also I was fortunate to experience seeing people playing my game and I noticed that there were also a lot of bugs. I also got to see what I was told about the poor performance... I am really happy seeing people play the game but it is also quite sad that the experience isn't what I hoped for.
Thank you for everyone who has given the game a chance! I have had good laughs about the bugs and comments!
I have been testing different ways to increase the performance. I managed to get good results with occlusion culling, lowering the draw distance (doesn't affect the gameplay because of the fog) and light optimization.
I have played the game 3 times and the fps stays constantly over 60fps, except for a small part of the game where the fps is 50-59 (small part which isn't even necessary to complete the game). I am hoping that the fps stays above 30fps for computers with lower specs.
Updates:
- Better performance optimization
- Game helping mechanics added, such as a map and more clear objectives
- Shorter load times thanks to removing unnecessary objects from scenes
- Less bugs for the same reason as above
- Enemy colliders have been improved.
- Enemy waypoints have been improved
